Palacio de Bornos Verdejo 2017

11.99

Rueda D.O., Spain

This Verdejo is on the fuller, fruiter side of the spectrum. Loaded with tangerine and lemongrass, the palate is lush yet kept fresh by the crisp acidity. The finish carries mineral notes and a hint of anise. A great choice for summer sipping!

About the winey: Palacio de Bornos approaches their viticulture with scientific precision. They own 708 acres which undergo extensive soil testing so the right vines are planted in the right locations for superior fruit. In addition, they continue research in clonal selection, vine spacing as well as rootstock and leaf nutrition. Palacio de Bornos has the deepest respect for Mother Earth and practice sustainable agriculture to preserve the land for future generations.

About the vineyard: The vine age averages 15 years and the climate naturally limits yields to about 3.64 tons/acre. The soils are a calcareous clay subsoil and gravelly top soil with a high concentration of boulders, allowing for good aeration and drainage.

Serving suggestion: Great as a light aperitif, with tapas, pesto pasta, meaty fish or sushi. Drink now-2020.
